Will someone please help me with the package statistic information for
Haiku on distrowatch.com?

I was disappointed in the information about Haiku on DistroWatch. A
lot of the information seems wrong. I recently sent this email to
http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=haiku
For example, gcc, Vim, VLC, and other software are available for
Haiku, but they are not listed in the statistics.
How are package statistics loaded for the distributions?
May I help in updating them?
Please do! Just let me know what is incorrect and I'll fix it promptly.
I think of DistroWatch as an important resource for the open source
operating system community. I think many Linux users use it as a
serious source of information and news.

Many people will notice when Haiku r1alpha4 is released. I feel that
it's important to have complete and correct information for it on
DistroWatch.

I don't think there's much point in correcting information for the
release that's already been posted, but I would like to make sure the
information for r1alpha4 is ready before it's released.

I'll go through the DistroWatch list of software and collect
information about what Haiku uses. If anyone would like to help or has
suggestions (or would like to tell me to please stop) :P then I would
be grateful.

Thank you! :)

Here is the information I gathered for the upcoming r1alpha4. Will
someone please double check it?

Also, I had trouble with information for two software packages: Does
Haiku use bind? And which version glibc does Haiku use?

I would leave out openjdk and qt and any others that aren't yet
installable using installoptionalpackage. And no real need to list
glibc or bind.

MesaLib 8.1
MesaLib should be 7.8.2. The gcc4 images use mainline 8.x Mesa, but
R1A4 is gcc2 and uses Mesa 7.8.2

Thank you for the updated information.
no real need to list glibc or bind.
They're listed on DistroWatch, so I think it'd be nice to provide people
with the information on these two software packages too.

Is there a reason you feel there's no need to list them that a simple
Haiku user like me doesn't know about? :)

As for glibc, it's actually a mix of at least 2 versions.
See the commit logs, I'm sure I mentioned them when adding m68k stuff.

François.
